Our Mission
Resilient House is dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for young women ages 14-17.5 who have survived the traumas of Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC). We believe in the strength, resilience, and potential of every young person who enters our care, and we are committed to helping them reclaim their lives and build brighter futures.
Who We Serve
Our residents are young women who have faced unimaginable challenges and traumas. At Resilient House, we offer a refuge—a place to heal, rediscover hope, and begin the journey toward independence. We understand that each survivor’s journey is unique, and our trauma-informed care is tailored to meet their specific needs in a safe, compassionate environment.
Our Approach
Our holistic approach centers on healing and restoration. Through residential programming, mental health assessment, case management, crisis intervention, and a variety of supportive services, we guide each young woman toward emotional recovery, physical well-being, and personal growth. Our team provides individualized care that respects each resident’s story, promotes resilience, and fosters skills for independence.
Comprehensive Support
At Resilient House, we offer more than shelter. We provide advocacy, educational resources, medical care, and essential life skills training to help young women rebuild their confidence and autonomy. We also help them reconnect with educational goals and prepare for a future where they can thrive on their own terms.
Our Vision
We envision a world where every young survivor of human trafficking has the support, resources, and opportunities to reclaim her life. At Resilient House, we work each day to create a supportive community that believes in second chances and is dedicated to the empowerment of young women who are ready to begin a new chapter.

Volunteers are an essential part of our mission to provide a safe and nurturing environment for youth survivors of CSEC. Whether you bring specific skills or simply a caring heart, we have various ways for you to get involved.
Ways to Volunteer
What We Look for in Volunteers
All volunteers undergo training to understand trauma-informed care and to ensure a safe, respectful environment for our youth. We’re looking for compassionate individuals who can commit to consistency, respect privacy, and bring a non-judgmental, supportive approach to their role.
Important Requirement
To ensure the safety and well-being of our residents, all volunteers must complete a background check through the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and fingerprinting before beginning service.
